Device helps people walk

Scientists in Switzerland invented an electronic implant (device put inside the body) that helped nine people who are paralyzed to walk again. One of those patients was Michel Roccati. After a motorcycle accident, his brain couldn’t send the correct signals to his legs and upper body. The device worked by picking up the signals, making them stronger, and sending them to the right parts of his body. Roccati, who called it “a gift,” can stand up, walk, and climb stairs.
