The new movie Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret is an adaptation of a popular Judy Blume novel about growing up.

Award-winning author Judy Blume’s novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, a book about the challenges of growing up and figuring out who you are, has been popular for more than 50 years. For the first time, it has been turned into a film, which arrives in movie theaters on April 28. The story in the book and the movie is set in the 1970s. It is told from the perspective of 11-year-old Margaret Simon, a sixth grader faced with going to a new school, making new friends, family drama, and most notably, puberty (when a child’s body becomes an adult body).
