Edinburgh tidies its streets

A clean-up of Edinburgh has started after strikes by bin collectors that lasted from 18 to 30 August. The crews stopped work for 12 days because of a disagreement with the city’s council about how much they get paid. Rubbish piled up in the city for two weeks, and experts warned it could be dangerous to people’s health. Lorries have now collected the piles of bin bags and loose rubbish has been swept up.
