On 23 March, Mack Rutherford took off from Bulgaria as he began his journey of flying around the world. Five months later, on 24 August, he completed his journey. At the age of 17, he has become the youngest person to fly around the world solo. He told The Week Junior that after he got his flying licence at 15, he wanted to actually use it. When his sister Zara became the youngest woman to fly around the world in January, he knew what he wanted to do. “I thought that was an amazing idea,” he said, “My inspiration really comes from my sister.” Mack flew over a total of 52 countries and saw some stunning views along the way.
