New games Scarlet and Violet will have you catching and collecting again.

It’s been a huge year for fans of Pokémon games. In January, the year kicked off with the launch of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and now it’s ending with two new games: Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Fans will be familiar with the gameplay: the aim is for players to find and catch the little creatures known as Pokémon. Like previous Pokémon games that came out in pairs, they’re basically the same game with different Pokémon characters and different outfits for the main characters. Before you play, you’ll have a choice of three starter companions: a cat-like creature called Sprigatito, a duckling called Quaxly and a cute baby dragon named Fuecoco.
