Bass music gets people grooving
A team of neuroscientists (people who study how the brain works) at McMaster University, Canada, have found that bass (a low-frequency sound, which means it is so deep you can feel as well as hear it) makes people dance more. At a live music concert, a very low-frequency bass sound was turned on and off every 2.5 minutes during the show. The sound was too low for the human ear to hear, but the team wanted to see if it affected people’s dancing. To check, 43 people in the audience wore headbands that measured their movements.
