Journey to the edge of space

You’ve heard of space rockets, but have you heard of a space balloon? A company called Space Perspective is planning to use its new balloon, called Spaceship Neptune, to take ordinary people on a trip to the edge of space. Although the balloon won’t technically enter space, which starts at the Kármán line, 62 miles above the surface of Earth, this won’t matter much to the passengers. At 20 miles above Earth, they will feel like they’re in space, with stars visible above and the Earth’s curve visible below. The missions will last for six hours – two hours travelling up, two hours to enjoy the view and two hours travelling back.
