24 May 1819 Queen Victoria is born On 24 May 1819, Queen Victoria was born at Kensington Palace, in London. Victoria became Queen at the age of 18 after the death of her father, William IV, in 1837. She married Prince Albert in 1840 and they had nine children together before he died in 1861. After Albert’s death, she only wore black. Victoria ruled for nearly 64 years, which at the time was the longest reign in British history. She died on the Isle of Wight, on 22 January 1901, and was succeeded by her son Edward VII.…
