RAVEN CHICKS Raven chicks have been born at the Tower of London for the first time in 30 years. Yeoman Warder Chris Skaife, Ravenmaster at the Tower of London, said he felt like a proud father. The birds started to hatch on 29 April (St George’s Day this year) so one of the chicks will be named George or Georgina. FINDING GOLD A gold nugget weighing 1.4 kilograms has been found in Kalgoorlie, western Australia. Estimated to be worth around £54,000, the chunk of gold was discovered by an unidentified man using a metal detector. Roughly three quarters of Australia’s gold is unearthed in this area.
