Winner of Eurovision is revealed

On 18 May, The Netherlands won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The competition has been held every year since 1956 and features singers from across Europe and beyond. During the final, which is broadcast live on TV around the world, singers from 26 participating countries each performed a song before two rounds of voting, one by professional juries and the other by members of the public. The song that receives the most votes is the winner. The winning country gets to host the show the following year, and this year it was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The winning song, Arcade, sung by Duncan Laurence, received 492 points in total. Italy finished second with 465 points and Russia third with 369 points. The UK finished bottom, with just 16 points…
