Could there be an app for young users?

Social network Facebook has run into trouble with its plans to build a new version of its Instagram app designed specially for young people under 13 years old. The company announced these plans in March but now a group of important legal officials in the US have written to Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg asking him to give up the idea. They say they are worried that an Instagram for under-13s will be used by young people who “are not equipped to navigate the challenges of having a social media account”. These concerns include young people feeling pressure about their appearance and popularity; sharing personal information without thinking about the consequences; and the risks of cyberbullying or adults trying to contact them.
