Leicester lift the FA Cup

On 15 May, Leicester City won the FA Cup for the first time. They beat Chelsea, who have won the trophy eight times, 1-0 at Wembley Stadium in London. Leicester had played in four FA Cup finals before this one but their last appearance was in 1969. Their fans were delighted finally to secure the historic silver trophy. Leicester’s nickname is the Foxes. Belgian player Youri Tielemans was Leicester’s goalscoring hero in the match. The midfielder netted Leicester’s winner with a long-range shot in the second half. Danish goalkeeper and captain of Leicester, Kasper Schmeichel, also made some important saves to stop Chelsea scoring. “I’m so happy I can’t begin to describe it.
