Holy Jerusalem

Jerusalem is holy for Christians, Jews and Muslims. For Christians, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is sacred because many believe this is where Jesus was crucified, buried, and came back to life. For Jewish people, the Western Wall is holy because it is where a great temple once stood, inside which was the Holy of Holies. This was the most sacred site in Judaism, where it is said that the 10 Commandments that God gave to Moses were kept. For Muslims, the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque are holy sites. Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad travelled from Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, to this area in Jerusalem and then went up to heaven.…
