Electric aircraft takes off

One of the first electric aircraft to be designed and built in the UK has made its first flight. It took off from Little Snoring airfield in Norfolk, England, and was powered by only a battery to propel it from the runway. The plane, developed at Cranfield University in England, flew for 10 minutes on its first flight, and 22 minutes on its second flight. Paul Hendry-Smith, from the company that built the craft, said it was a “milestone in electrically powered flight”.…
