Robot chef that learns to chew and taste
Working with a company called Beko, which makes kitchen equipment, scientists at Cambridge University have built a robot chef that can taste food and decide if humans will like it. The bot can test the saltiness of a meal and work out how the taste will develop as it’s chewed. To train it, the robot was given nine dishes of scrambled eggs with different amounts of salt and tomatoes, which it tested with a sensor probe in different places.
