Alex Green is the programme director for Let’s Go Zero, a new campaign to make schools more environmentally friendly. The plan is to help schools aim for a zero-carbon target. Zero carbon is about stopping emissions of carbon dioxide, a gas that causes global warming if there is too much of it in the atmosphere. Green’s job is to run the campaign. “I speak to schools, and I talk to the key people in Government to help change the way they help schools,” she tells The Week Junior. The campaign has criticised the Government’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy for schools. Climate change is when there are long-term changes in the world’s weather patterns, including rising temperatures. Green says the Government needs to put money into schools to help them…
