The US Storms sweep across the country Powerful storms have left more than 185,000 households and businesses without electricity in several southern states of the US. Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma were three of the states hit by dust storms and tornadoes (powerful rotating winds). At least 42 people have died. The US government has said it will help those affected. Paris, France Canadian prime minister visits Europe The new Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, met French president Emmanuel Macron in Paris on 17 March. Carney said he wanted Canada to strengthen ties with “reliable allies” (friends). The trip follows a disagreement between Canada and the US on how they trade.
