Join friends Tola and Kole on their adventures in a futuristic Nigerian city.

A new animated science-fiction series set in a futuristic version of the city of Lagos, Nigeria, has just been released on Disney+. Iwájú was created by Kugali, an entertainment company that wants African stories to be told by African people. Iwájú tells the story of two best friends, Tola and Kole. Tola, who has grown up in a wealthy family, has just turned 10 years old and wants to have more independence. Kole works for Tola’s father to earn money to support his mother, and is a self-taught tech expert. The two of them discover that there are secrets and dangers hidden within their different worlds. Olufikayo Adeola, who directed the show, told The Week Junior, “We often describe Iwájú as a love letter to Lagos, Nigeria.” He was born…
