Fundraising for a kinder society

Lyra Forster has raised lots of money to help cats.

Recently, The Week Junior collaborated with SuperKind, an organisation that helps young people “make a difference to the world around them”. We launched a campaign called Fundraising for a Better World. Readers were encouraged to set up a fundraising page on the SuperKind website and raise money for a cause close to their hearts. The campaign’s top fundraiser was 12-year-old Lyra Forster. So far, Lyra has raised £1,710 for Cats Protection, a charity that rehomes unwanted cats. She told The Week Junior that she chose this organisation because she loves cats. Her family has two cats, called Paws and Stripes, and Lyra loves them because they’re “really affectionate and nice to stroke”.
