Commonwealth comes together

On 10 March, King Charles and other members of the royal family attended a service at London’s Westminster Abbey to mark Commonwealth Day. This is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of the Commonwealth and its member nations. The Commonwealth is a group of 56 countries, most of which were part of the British empire – places around the world that were once ruled by Britain. The Commonwealth countries have agreed to shared goals that include fair elections and peace. This year’s Commonwealth Day theme was Together We Thrive, celebrating the spirit of the Commonwealth and its power to bring people together.
