As The Week Junior was going to press this week, we were intrigued to hear that Nasa (the US space agency) was about to make an announcement about its plan to send a probe closer to the Sun than ever before. Scientists are hoping to find out more about how stars work and to use the information they gather to help understand space weather events, such as solar storms, that affect us here on Earth. We’ll be telling you all about it in next week’s issue. Scientists often look to space to help us learn about our own planet, and – although space missions are very expensive – exploring space not only helps us solve the mysteries of the universe, it also benefits everyday life.
