Ink Blott Underground iOS (Free) Don’t worry, this app isn’t about making inky marks on your iPad screen. Instead, it’s a clever and fun app based around words and their meanings. It’s partly a game, and partly a way to buff up your language skills. The game involves a hero named Blott, who is searching for crystals in the underground caves of the Inklings – a group of cute characters whose kingdom is under threat from word corruption. Along the way, you’ll find word parts that you can use to clean up the caves: for example, when you see “quick-ion” and you’re holding the word part “ly”, you can replace the “ion” with “ly” to spell “quickly”, and clear your path.
