AN INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT Omar Hegazy lost his left leg in a motorbike accident two years ago, but that hasn’t stopped him achieving his goals. On 23 May he became the first amputee (someone who has had a limb removed) to swim from Egypt to Jordan, crossing the 12.4 mile Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba in less than nine hours. A RESCUED BULL Firefighters on the Isle of Skye worked for four hours to rescue a one tonne bull that had got trapped in a bog. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service saved the stranded animal by digging around it with spades. After it was freed, the bull was reunited with its owner.
