Scientists have answered some food-related questions that have puzzled people for years. Here are a few food myths they have put to rest. Is dirt on food fine to eat? Many people believe that a small amount of dirt on your food won’t hurt you. Scientists say that isn’t true. Even a tiny bit of dirt can carry a harmful bacteria called E. coli that can give you food poisoning. Always wash fruit and vegetables before you eat them. Can I chop onions without crying?
