Giant pandas Zoo officials have announced that a female giant panda from a zoo in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is showing signs of pregnancy. If 11-year-old Shin Shin has a successful pregnancy, this will be the first healthy giant panda to be born and raised in the zoo in 29 years.
