Jubilee celebrated across the UK

The Queen said she was “deeply touched” after Platinum Jubilee celebrations were held across the country. Around one in four people in the UK took part in community events over the four-day bank holiday weekend to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking 70-year reign. As well as the street parties that took place all over the country, there were big events in central London that attracted huge crowds. Millions more people watched them at home on TV. These events included Trooping the Colour (a parade to mark the Queen’s official birthday) and The Party at the Palace, a concert featuring stars such as Sir Elton John, George Ezra, Craig David and Eurovision’s Sam Ryder.
