Litter picker wins award

Jogging is a popular way to keep fit, but an eco-friendly student has just won an award for “plogging”. Plogging means picking up litter and jogging at the same time. Vivek Gurav, who studies climate science at Bristol University, in England, brought together 140 people to pick up litter in the city. Together they collected an incredible 3,750 kilograms of rubbish as they jogged along the streets. Gurav has now won a Points of Light award, which is given to “inspirational volunteers who are making a change in their community”.
