Invasion harms UK farmers

Chicken feed is usually made up of between 60% and 70% grain. The grain shortages caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine have caused the price of chicken feed to rise by as much as 40%, which has been difficult for many farmers in the UK. One told the BBC, “If the conflict continues we could continue to see wheat prices rise.” Further issues such as bird flu and rising energy prices have presented problems for chicken farmers as well.
