A day for remembering

Holocaust Memorial Day, on 27 January, is when people join together to remember the Holocaust. This was when six million Jewish people were killed during the Second World War (1939–45). Karen Pollock is the head of the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET), a charity that teaches people about the Holocaust. She told The Week Junior that it’s important to learn about and understand the Holocaust because it’s a “defining episode in our history”.
