Rare UFO clouds spotted

On 16 and 17 January, strange-looking clouds were spotted in the skies above northern parts of the UK, including Cumbria, Northumberland and Scotland. Called lenticular clouds, they can form during certain weather conditions, when the wind blows over hills and causes the air to form layers, which results in the eye-catching effect. They are sometimes referred to as “UFO clouds” because they can look like alien flying saucers from sci-fi movies.…
