Using dance to express feelings

The solo star of Birdboy is happy on stage.

When Kévin Coquelard was first told about Birdboy, he said, “This show is going to be bonkers. I’d better stick with it.” Since 2019, he’s danced all over the world in the 40-minute play – a solo dance show about a lonely boy. Coquelard started dancing when he was nine after a friend told him he was going to a class after school. He said, “I didn’t know it was possible (that boys could dance). I went home and told my mother I wanted to go.” From then on, Coquelard said he felt happy on stage.
