It’s National Storytelling Week and we are embracing the power of stories. They are essential to who we are. Did you know that “history” and “story” are based on the same Old French word, estoire? It means tale or chronicle (record of events). Holocaust Memorial Day (page 2) is a chance to tell stories – and listen to them – to help us avoid repeating the past. On page 23, Author G.M. Linton shows how to uncover and tell the story of your family, to give you a sense of identity. There are lots of ways to tell stories.
