Philippine spotted deer

A rare Philippine spotted deer fawn was recently born at Bristol Zoo in England. The fawn, which is about as tall as a cereal packet, is part of a breeding programme to boost numbers. There are 700 of the deer left in the wild. • LIFESPAN: Around 20 years. • HABITAT: Rainforests in the Visayan islands of Panay and Negros, in the Philippines. • SIZE: Up to 1.3 metres long and 80 kilograms. • DIET: Grasses, leaves and buds. • FUN FACT: They can rotate their ears to listen out for sounds of danger.…
