Angler catches a gigantic goldfish

During an angling (fishing) trip to the Bluewater Lakes in France, Andy Hackett was delighted to catch one of the world’s biggest goldfish, nicknamed “The Carrot”. The 30 kilogram fish was introduced to the lake 20 years ago as a challenge for people to catch. The giant goldfish has rarely been hooked because it usually avoids the water’s surface. “It was brilliant to catch it, but it was also sheer luck,” admitted Hackett, who took 25 minutes just to reel in the jumbo fish.
