Junior Eurovision is on TV

Tune in to watch talented young people sing for their countries.

On 11 December, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place. It will be the first time since 2005 that the UK is competing, and the first time that the BBC will be broadcasting it live on television. Eurovision is an annual singing competition. The contestants, each representing a country from Europe (and sometimes beyond), perform a new song and they are scored based on votes from the public and a professional panel. Junior Eurovision is for contestants aged nine to 14 years old. It was first held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2003, 47 years after the adult contest began.
