Portraits of survivors

This new exhibition honours those who survived the Holocaust.

A photography exhibition at the Imperial War Museum in London shows 50 portraits of Holocaust survivors and their families. The Holocaust was a period in history between 1941 and 1945 when millions of Jewish people were murdered. Germany’s Nazi party, led by Adolf Hitler, organised the killings. The photographs in this exhibition aim to capture the lives of those who escaped and survived and to make sure their stories are passed down the generations. The exhibition is made up of works by 13 photographers, all members of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), including the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, who is the patron of the RPS.
