Bees buzzing in the Premier League

On 13 August, the 2021–22 Premier League season kicked off, with Brentford causing a shock by beating Arsenal 2-0. Nicknamed the Bees, Brentford had not played in England’s top football league since 1947. In front of a sellout crowd of more than 16,000 at their new Brentford Community Stadium in west London, the Bees won with goals from Sergi Canós and Christian Norgaard. Manchester United, who have been English champions a record 20 times, began the season with a big 5-1 win against rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick (three goals) for Manchester United as they aim to win their first league title since 2013.
