A coding kit for young superheroes

Marvel’s Avengers team almost certainly don’t have to make their own costumes or learn programming skills to give themselves new superhero skills. At least, you don’t see that in the films, but that’s exactly the idea behind a new coding kit from technology company LittleBits. Its Avengers Hero Inventor Kit, which goes on sale this month, comes as a jumble of pieces that you fit together. You can then control their lights and sound effects from an app. Changing the superpowered effects involves snapping blocks of code together in the smartphone or tablet app, which also comes with games based on the Marvel Avengers characters.
