Clark Kent beat Michael Phelps’s time in the 100-metre butterfly race in California, US, ending a 23-year-long record. Living up to his superhero name, Clark completed the race in 1 minute and 9.38 seconds – a whole second quicker than Phelps managed in 1995. RARE FLOWERS IN BLOOM More than 60 rare orchids have been found in a meadow created by Cambridge House Grammar School in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. The school set aside the field to create a habitat for wildflowers and bees two years ago. The orchids are called Irish Lady’s Tresses and there are only 2,000 in Europe.
