Name: Theo Year: 5 All body hair goes through the same three-stage growing cycle: anagen (the growth phase), catagen (the renewing phase) and telogen (the shedding phase). At any one point, around 85% of your hairs will be in the anagen phase, around 14% in the catagen phase and 1% in the telogen phase. During the anagen phase, cells in the hair follicle form into the rope-like structure we know as hair. The longer the anagen phase, the longer the hair will grow. The anagen phase for head hair is two to six years The anagen phase for body hair is just weeks.
