Barn owls Northern Ireland’s biggest brood (family) of barn owls has been recorded in an abandoned building on a farm near Lough Neagh (a large lake near Belfast). Five chicks were discovered thanks to hidden cameras that were set up at several sites dotted across the area. Santorini’s donkeys Animal-welfare groups have strongly criticised the practice of selling donkey rides to tourists on the Greek island of Santorini. They believe that the animals are suffering crippling injuries as a result of having to carry overweight tourists to the tops of the island’s rocky cliffs.…
