Anglesey Abbey Gardens, Cambridgeshire

Anglesey Abbey was founded in 1135 by King Henry I as a hospital and converted into a priory in the 13th century. A priory is a building where nuns or monks live, work and pray. In 1926, it was bought by Lord Fairhaven and his brother Henry, who rebuilt it extensively. The site is now home to wonderful gardens spanning 114 acres and filled with stunning flowers throughout the year. This autumn you are likely to see dahlias and cyclamen.
