Titanic menu is sold for £100,000

A menu for the first meal to be served on the Titanic has sold at auction for £100,000. The menu – which includes dishes such as spring lamb with mint – was served on the first day of sea trials (testing a ship on water) on 2 April 1912. Second Officer Charles Lightoller gave it to his wife before the Titanic headed out on its maiden (first) voyage on 10 April 1912. Four days later, the ship hit an iceberg and sank; more than 1,500 passengers and crew lost their lives. Lightoller was the most senior officer to survive the disaster.…
