Castle Espie, Northern Ireland

On the shores of Strangford Lough, in County Down, Northern Ireland, Castle Espie is home to the largest groups of native and exotic water birds, bats and migrant birds in Ireland. During the winter months, this wetland centre hosts nearly every light-bellied brent goose in the world. There are nature walks, with special hides (huts for wildlife watching) and various themed areas for children. These spaces include the Secret Swamp, which has a log den hideout.
