Men and women have very different approaches to shopping. The way in which males and females undertake the task of acquisition would seem, in many ways, to echo the division of labour in prehistoric times — men hunt, women gather. Though we’re loath to generalise, observation (both from life, and programmes popular with our partners such as Sex and the City) would bear out that, typically, the female of the species is content to spend endless hours trawling the stores, often with no clear goal other than to enjoy the shopping (read: gathering) experience, picking up whatever random items happen to take her fancy.
