First adjustments

The first changes you may need to make to an image are correcting any distortions and to crop. Here are a selection of basic techniques and tools to help you with these initial edits

The basics… ✓ REFORMAT The Crop Tool is more versatile than you might think and should be your first step for reformatting images. Select the Crop Tool from the toolbar (or press the C key), then click and drag over the area that you wish to include in the composition. You don’t have to get it right first time; the changes aren’t applied until you commit to them. You can use the anchor points around the bounding box to expand or contract the crop as needed. If you would like to maintain your image’s aspect ratio, hold down the shift key when making your initial selection or you can preset the size or ratio using the Width and Height input boxes in the top toolbar.
