THere are a Huge number of plug-ins and software packages available that claim to be the ultimate way to convert your images to monochrome. One fairly new product to market is Tonality Pro, from Macphun. This apple-only black & white conversion software in available in two flavours: Tonality is aimed at amateur and enthusiast photographers and costs £14; while Tonality Pro is aimed at serious enthusiasts and professionals and costs £42. The standalone Tonality package contains the tools that most users will need, while the Pro version adds extra plug-in support for Photoshop, Lightroom, aperture and elements along with other more advanced features.
