How to reduce noise

Effective noise reduction in Photoshop is fairly simple, but it’s easy to go too far. Here’s how to get it right

RECENT gENERaTiONs Of DsLRs handle noise a lot better than they used to. shooting at high isO ratings was previously avoided at all costs unless you wanted to make it look as if you were photographing in a snowstorm. Rarely did you push above isO 800 unless you absolutely had to. However, thanks to advances in both sensor and processing technology, cranking up the isO to shoot in low light no longer confines your images to the trash. Of course, using a high isO isn’t the only cause of noise – it can also be affected by long exposures or by over-zealous editing and exposure manipulation.
