DEVELOPED BACK IN 1840, the original Petzval lens was one of the greats: a fast portrait lens, loved by many for its ability to create stunning images featuring a sharp point of focus, shallow depth-of-field and a signature dreamy bokeh that seemed to swirl around the edges. We say original because so en vogue is this effect that Lomography, the global go-to marketplace for retro photography, released its own Petzval lens last year designed to be used with Canon and Nikon digital SLRs.
