Colgate power forward Kristyna Kaltounkova eyes her PWHL future as she enters her final NCAA season

WATCHING THE PWHL’S inaugural season, Kristyna Kaltounkova saw something she liked. In the PWHL’s physical style, Kaltounkova saw a place where her game could thrive. After playing boys’ hockey in Czechia, the Colgate center spent much of her time in North America attempting to curb her physicality. When she graduates at the end of this season, however, Kaltounkova’s power-forward style and willingness to throw her body around will make her a highly sought-after prospect in the 2025 PWHL draft. “I feel like I can be described as a passionate player who obviously likes to take the body on other players,” Kaltounkova said. “I definitely play within the limits of the game but also not being afraid of taking a hit or giving a hit.
